Functions

Basic Functions

 “EQGuard-Ⅲ” Earthquake Sensor Alarm Equipment to issue alert before the arrival of strong shaking

Outline of Equipment
Built-in accelerometer detects P wave and issue earthquake alert before the arrival of strong shaking by S wave. EQG-Ⅲhas a specialized software to distinguish between earthquake and living noise generated near EQG-Ⅲ,which prevents it issuing of erroneous alert.

Multi-Language Announcement
EQG-Ⅲ issue alert by selected language from11 languages, Japanese, English, Chinese, Korean, Indonesian, Persian, Turkish, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian and Arabic.

 

Control Signal Output    
EQGuard-Ⅲ can send the signals to control the connected equipment like broadcasting facility, elevator, production facility etc. in accordance with the estimated seismic intensity level of the earthquake.

SchoolGuard

Since the classroom acording to number will be displayed on a receiver installed in the teachers' office, when a teacher presses the emergency button on the remote control carried on one's person, other teachers are able to respond to the incident and act quickly. Also,when someone presses the panic button the incident is reported to the teacher's office.

SchoolGuard Unit Outline

  • Emergency reports are transmitted the moment the remote-control button is pressed.
  • The classroom can be easily confirmed on the receiver display in the teachers' office. This enables teachers to respond to the incident and act quickly.
  • The emergency will be automatically reported to fixed-line telephones in homes or to the mobile telephones of the school principal, or other party concerned. Up to three telephone numbers can be registered, with prerecorded messages played on those telephones in emergency.
  • Since it is a wireless unit, troublesome wireing work is unnecessary.

Features

  • Report an emergency from the classroom to the teachers’ office just by pressing the theremote control.
    As long as teachers carry the remote control with them, a report can be provided in any situation.
  • Simple installation work
    Since it is a wireless unit, any wireing to connect classrooms to the teachers’ office is unnecessary.
  • The number of classrooms covered can be readily extended to up to 254 in total.

Initial Costs of the SchoolGuard Unit

Remote Control: Teachers carry them and press the emergency button emergencies.

 

Transmitter: Receives signals sent from remote controls and redirects them to the receiver installed in the teachers’ office.

 

Receiver: Receives signals from transmitters and sounds an alarm while displaying the classroom number from which the signals were sent.

 

Warning device: Installed in hallways or classrooms and sounds an alarm when the remote-control button is pressed.

 

Emergency call terminal: Reports emergencies to registered, external telephone numbers once the remote-control button is pressed. Up to three telephone numbers can be registered to receive the calls in the event of an emergency.

Case Study

SchoolGuard has been installed in more than 1,300 schools, preschools, and nursery schools throughout Japan. It has also been installed in hospitals, shopping malls, office buildings, and other facilities.

Case Study

Senju Municipal Elementary School, Adachi City, Tokyo, (Principal: Masaki Hayashi) has been chosen as a model school for the “Community-Based School Safety Model Promotion Project,” conducted by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and actively pursuing research and application through a range of activities concerned with community-based safety as based on the school’s “Open School Development Conference.” Themes for the research and application sessions consisted of activities relating to the event of an emergency, including “Preparing a Crime-Prevention Manual,” “Providing Safety Education,” “Improving Facilities, Equipment and Protective Gear for Security Purposes,” “Providing Training for Dealing with Suspicious Persons,” “Approaches to Crime-Prevention Activities in Cooperation with the Community,” and “Approaches for Strengthening Cooperation with the Community.”

 

For the duration of these activities, the school decided to adopt our school emergency reporting system “SchoolGuard” in order to benefit facilities, equipment, and protective gear being used in security measures.

 

If any suspicious individual intrudes onto school premises, the system instantly displays the location where the suspicious individual was spotted without his or her noticing via remote controls carried by each teacher. The incident is then also reported to registered telephone numbers outside the system. As a result, this enables the entire school body to take immediate action. The system runs on a wireless basis and requires no special construction work. This means that there is minimum interference during installation and classes are able to proceed as usual.
